Terms of Service

Rules and guidelines for using EduMatch

Last updated: August 21, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using EduMatch NG (edumatch.com.ng), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. EduMatch is part of the EduVerify Ecosystem, which includes EduVerify (school verification), EduVendor (procurement), and Wallet (payment services). These terms apply to job seekers (teachers, corps members, interns, support staff, and career changers) using the platform.

2. Eligibility

To use EduMatch, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old or have legal capacity to work in Nigeria
  • Provide accurate, truthful information in your profile
  • Have a valid Nigerian address (geocoded during registration for proximity matching)
  • Not have been previously banned from the EduVerify Ecosystem for violations
3. User Accounts & Profiles

EduMatch uses a separate user table (edumatch_users) from EduVerify and EduVendor. You may use the same email across platforms, but each platform requires separate registration. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. All profile information must be accurate. Misrepresentation of qualifications, experience, or identity will result in account suspension and removal of verification badges.

4. Subscription Tiers

EduMatch offers three tiers:

  • Free: Basic profile, visible within 10km radius, 3 job applications per week
  • Basic (₦3,000/year): Unlimited applications, priority matching, expanded visibility
  • Premium (₦5,000/year): Featured profile badge, instant job alerts, resume builder tool

Subscriptions are non-refundable after 7 days or once you have used the platform for applications. Payments are processed through the shared Wallet system or directly via Paystack/Monnify.

5. Matching & Communication

Our matching engine uses proximity (Haversine distance from your home address to the school), subject expertise, qualification level, salary expectations, and availability timing. When you express interest in a position, the school receives your profile details. Mutual interest unlocks direct chat. EduMatch does not guarantee employment — we facilitate connections. Schools make all hiring decisions independently.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

  • Create multiple accounts or fake profiles
  • Submit false qualifications, certificates, or references
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against schools or other users
  • Use the platform to solicit payments outside the official Wallet/escrow system
  • Scrape, automate, or reverse-engineer the matching system
  • Share login credentials or allow others to use your account
7. Verification Tiers

EduMatch uses a three-tier verification system:

  • ID Verified: NIN submitted and validated
  • Qualification Verified: Certificates reviewed by admin
  • Fully Verified: References confirmed

Verification is optional but strongly recommended. Verified teachers receive 3x more matches and are prioritized in school searches. We reserve the right to revoke verification if documents are found fraudulent.

8. Wallet, Payments & Referrals

The EduVerify Wallet is shared across all ecosystem platforms. You may deposit funds via Paystack or Monnify, receive referral bonuses (₦250 per paid referral), and withdraw to your Nigerian bank account. Standard withdrawals (₦50 fee, processed monthly) and instant withdrawals (₦150 fee, within 24 hours) are available. Minimum withdrawal is ₦1,000. Points from the click-to-earn program expire after 6 months. Dormant users (60+ days without login) cannot earn new points.

9. Content & Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you upload (CV, certificates, profile text). By uploading, you grant EduMatch a license to display this content to verified schools you express interest in. The EduMatch platform, matching algorithm, and brand materials are the property of EduVerify NG. You may not copy, modify, or distribute platform code or designs.

10. Limitation of Liability

EduMatch is a connection platform, not an employer. We do not:

  • Guarantee job offers, interviews, or specific salaries
  • Verify the accuracy of school-submitted job descriptions beyond basic school verification
  • Handle salary payments or employment contracts between you and schools
  • Assume liability for disputes arising from hiring decisions

We verify schools through EduVerify (CAC registration, physical address), but you are responsible for conducting your own due diligence before accepting employment.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for: misrepresentation, harassment, fraud, payment disputes, or violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Upon termination, your profile is hidden but transaction records are retained per financial regulations.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes will be resolved through arbitration in Lagos State, unless otherwise required by law.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced via email and platform notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

14. Contact
